About Tsukioka Onsen
Tsukioka Onsen’s hot springs have one of the highest sulfur contents in Japan,
and the scent of sulfur can be felt even outside the hotel.
Bathing in the hot springs will leave your skin feeling smooth and warm from the inside out.

Tsukioka Yu Incense Burner
There is a women’s bath called “Bijin no Yu” (Beauty Bath) and a men’s bath called “Genji no Yu.”
The emerald green water is scented with sulfur and cypress. The hot spring water is poured by a gentleman named Gensen Tonobe (a boy who pours hot water over the bather).
In the open-air bath overlooking a Kyoto-style garden, a boy named Oyukake Kozo (a boy who pours hot water over the bather) watches over the bather.

A “gift” from nature, the sulfur-containing sodium chloride spring has a limited daily supply.
In order to provide the best possible water in the best condition, our large garden baths, “Tono-yu” and “Hime-no-yu,” use boiled water.
Please use the large garden baths if you have sensitive skin, illnesses, or infants with sensitive skin.
We also have a large bath with a spacious feel and a sauna room.
In the “Hinoki Open-Air Bath” and “Oiwa Open-Air Bath,” which overlook the garden, a boy named Oyu-kake-kozo watches over you.

The spring quality is “sulfur-containing sodium chloride spring” (weakly alkaline, hypotonic, high temperature spring), and is said to be one of the best in Japan for skin-beautifying waters.
It has the effect of dissolving dead skin cells, leaving your skin smooth.
